In paper 2 I demonstrated my ability to write using MLA format. I used the guidelines given in “The Little Seagull”. I demonstrated this by using double spaced, times new roman, size 12 font. For each page in your essay “The Little Seagull” states that each page must have a header. This header must include your last name and the page number in the top right corner. For spacing, I used only one space after punctuation and one-inch space away from the margin. I had some issues in paper 2 when it came to paragraph indentations. Paragraphs are supposed to be indented one-half inch from the margin using the “tab” key on a keyboard. I did not accomplish this in my essay, but I am aware of how to correctly indent paragraphs now.
In paper 2 I was also able to demonstrate being able to revise local issues. Local issues include spelling, grammar, and sentence level mistakes. On page 1 of my essay, in draft one a sentence said “it taes so much heart and soul”. This was just a small sentence level typo, but I was able to identify and change “taes” to take. There were also sentence level mistakes I did not identify in my final draft. For example, my title was “What does Cooking Bring?” “does” is supposed to be capitalized because it is an important word in my title. I now know the mistake and won’t make the same sentence level mistake for my next papers.
